- 2 large sweet onions, chopped

- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups tomato juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon crushed dried thyme
- 1 bay leaf
