- 3 tablespoons skinned split black lentils (urad dal)
- 3 dried red chile peppers
- ¼ cup raw cashews
- 1 tablespoon mustard seed
- 2 sprigs fresh curry leaves
- 5 green chile peppers, halved lengthwise
- 2 teaspoons ground turmeric
- 2 lemons, juiced
- salt to taste
- 2 cups cold, cooked basmati rice
